The trimarans are boats designed to offer unequalled comfort and ease of
manoeuvre. These sailing craft behave perfectly at sea and achieve high speeds
without requiring exhausting handling by the crew and without the listing of
single-hulled vessels.
In comparison with the catamaran the smaller wind resistance (fardage )and a
lower centre of gravity favour handling against the wind and in rough seas. The
trimaran possesses one major handicap: its great width.
Triptyque trimarans are fitted with a unique patented system of hull
contraction which allows them to be reduce in width by two thirds overall for
manoeuvring in port, inland navigable channels, transportation, docking etc.
with no dismantling required.
This system, using simple but very carefully developed geometry, allows the
hulls to be gently lowered by retracting them and the stability of the vessel to
be increased in that configuration.
In this way sailors will not have to suffer the categorical refusal of the
harbour master, at each port of call or docking area, who is sorry that he can't
accommodate your magnificent boat because it is too large.
Transportable Triptyque trimarans do not need
interminable dismantling requiring the assistance of the port crane-driver but
are loaded directly on the slipway using the trailer's winch. All of this is
facilitated by the fact that they are very light.
Triptyque trimarans are the brainchild of DPLG architect Christophe Maurel,
who is based at his own yard.
The planning office is integrated into the production process to enable a
better overview of quality and to enable any adaptations of the product required
by future users.
The Triptyque boatyard is to be found in the Landes region, on the Atlantic
coast.
